I am 17 years old and I hate life at home!My parents are spoiling my little sister and when I ask for something, there is never any money. My sister is the "good little angel" and I feel as though I am constantly fighting with my parents.

They complain about everything-my schoolwork,my friends,my room-the list is endless!I was thinking to move out and go and live with an older friend of mine who already has a place of his own,but I am concerned about how I will support myself.

What should I do?

  1. how about cleaning up your act and behave as a child should or join the army and see just how childish you really are

  2. First before you do something drastic that you will regret for the rest of your life, you need to sit down and think clearly. I have an 18 year son and he can get angry with us at times and talks about moving on his own, so i will give you the same advice i have given him; First get a job, and save your money don't go spend it all on the movies, food, and clothes. Second save that money for a car so you can get around in, and be more independent. once you have accomplished all this then your ready to move and be free on your own, i have some more advice ,but please pay attention this will help things at home. Start to clean your room everyday, wash your own clothes, go to school everyday and do your homework, and STOP! talking back to your parents we HATE that! If you behave yourself you will see your parents treat you better i  GUARANTEE you, its time to start behaving like a young adult, and get the respect you deserve, but in order to get that you must win them over.

  3. Running away is not the answer. It is sooo hard to live on your own and suport yourself. Finish school, get a job and save your money. Live well because its the best revenge. If you runaway you will struggle for the rest of your life..good luck and all the best!

  4. Just hang in there you will be fine, dont give your parents anythinig to complain about make sure your grades are good dont bring your friends around them and clean your room when there is nothing to complain about then you will truly know if they are spoiling your lif sis or your just over reacting the real world is hard trust me i know you really dont want to try and go out there at 17 with no education you want to finish school and go to college once your in college you will have the freedom you want and wont have to live under the same roof as your parents sometimes that is the best but at 17 thats just too young dont ruin your life just wait it out i know you can do it. You will be fine ok just stay positive and dont give your parents anything to complain about.

  5. I am shure you parents love you very much. My mother is the same way. Maybe you should talk to them and tell them that if they dont start treating you right you are going to leave. Wait a little longer sweetie. Wait untill you turn18. Remember God loves you. ;-)

  6. Girl, you are 17, you only have a little while longer before you are out of HS and then either in college or can get a job. You would not BELIEVE how hard it is trying to live on your own, so my suggestion is to wait it out for just one more year and then you will be able to spread your wings and fly.

If you go to college you will be in the dorms and you start to get a taste of what it's like to be on your own, only it's easier than what it'll be like after college.

If you don't go to college at least then you'll be able to get a full time job and will have the money to support yourself. If you try to move out now, you will likely wind up having to come back. That is what happened to my brother. And then you will have to live under stricter rules, they won't trust you at all anymore, and it's very embarrassing.

It really is better to just wait for a little longer. You've made it this far, you can grow up a little and deal a little longer.

I know it's not exactly what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth. Good luck. I hope things go well for you.
