10 Year High School Reunion?

I'm not sure I want to go! haha. I wasn't one of the popular kids and attended a large school (my graduating class was over 800). Part of me wants to go, but part of me says wait until the 20/25 year reunion. 10 years doesn't seem like that long ago! What was your reunion experience? Is it just a big huge brag fest?

Also they want to put together a book and have everyone submit a picture with a paragraph about what they've done since school ended. I'm not sure what to put- I dont want to sound horrible- but I dont regret my life at all. I'm not married (well we just arent married yet) but i graduated and moved out of state and got pregnant then moved back home.. then started college.. then stopped college after 1 year... moved and had jobs= whatever..then met my SO and had a baby.. went back to college.. and now we're expecting our 3rd child. We still arent married- and are living with my grandparents while I finish school... I know everyone elses is going to be,

  1. I honestly haven't gone to mine yet, it's in November. I wasn't popular at all, though I ended up being the one to plan it. I'm somewhat looking forward to it, though I will be about 7 months pregnant at that time. I also went to a richy kind of school. I know a lot of people now have great jobs and lots of money, and here I just work for my county park system. But I don't care. I couldn't be any happier with my life, and I know that will show. I just want to go and have fun and say hi to some people I talked to.

  2. seems boring to me, but some people like that stuff... im not the same as i was ten years ago and im sure no one else is so whats the point.

  3. Mine was a big brag feast for the most part.   I was from a graduating class of about 800 as well.   But there were a few people that I really enjoyed talking to and it was highly unlikely that I would see them in any other way.  So all in all it was worth it to go.  Just keep in mind that some people are just there to feel superior and enjoy as much as you can from it.

  4. OMG, you HAVE to go! I had a blast at mine. I was not a popular kid in HS, but changed a lot after going away to college. There were 500 in my class, but only about 75 came to the reunion. I went with two friends of mine that stayend in touch since high school and ended up reconnecting with a few people. It was fun to see where everyone was at. Everyone's life takes a differnt spin, and I didn't feel like anyone was judgemental of others. It's not like we all sat around and compared notes. You could just opt not to write the paragraph for the book (we had a LOT that didn't say anything) or just hit a couple highlights, like "happily commited to BF of X years and thrilled about baby #3 on the way. Looking froward to graduating next year with my degree in X."  Include your kids names and ages, maybe. Have Fun!
