10 days in france?

Question

Im looking to spend 10 days in france to see the sights, tours, experience those fancy resturants, all the good stuff, etc, etc

can anyone kind of help me plan what im going to be doing, from the day i leave (from north carolina to be specific) to the day i leave from france... i have 10 days to go and come back

my budget is only $2500 (not euros) though

Eeek!  My husband and I spent that much in transportation in France for 10 days.  I guess I'd suggest finding a reasonable hotel and staying put in a big city like Paris.  Get a 7 day ticket for Le Car Rouge and use it for transportation around the city AND for touring.  You won't get anywhere fast, but it will always be there to take you back again and hits ALL the major places.  You will also have a tour guide who speaks English.  Eat at cafes and stick to things like the museums that cost less than other attractions.

There are a lot of beautiful parks and gardens.  Tour them and take a picnic.  Parisians spend a lot of time entertaining themselves in the public gardens and parks.  Join in some boccie or play chess with the natives.
