  1. hmm i for sure wouldnt want to get plecos if you want sucker type id 100% go for a OTOCINCLUS those fish are amazing and wayy more better looking than plecos, also for tank mates, you can get a female betta or be like mine with 3 marble angels and 4 corydoras there all pretty G in there now

  2. Please don't get a pleco they will outgrow a 10 gallon tank very very quickly. And they can and will get HUGE and I mean HUGE. A good algae eater for a 10 gallon tank is a snail. Otos are good but you have to keep at least 3 and in a 10 gallon tank will cut down on the amount of other fish you can have.

This is what I have and recommend

    1 Betta

    1 African Dwarf Frog

A school of tetras such as neons 5-6

    1 Snail

    3 Corys.

  3. 10g (and 6g) are too small for plecos, for the smallest of plecos such as bristlenose and pitbull you really need 15 gallons.

For otocinclus, which are in the same family as plecos, these need to be kept in groups and canNOT be added to new tanks, they need tanks a MINIMUM of 5-6 months old with soft algae growth, otos are wild caught and very sensitive to water quality.

Maybe consider a trio or so of corydoras instead? Or 5 dwarf corys? These really do best on sand substrate. Dwarf corys may also experience the same sensitive issues as otos however, so be careful what you buy.

Do NOT add female bettas, gouramis, any cichlid, fast shoaling fish like danios and minnows, nippy fish like tiger barbs, mollies and serpae tetras, very brightly coloured fish like guppies and platys, even slower shoaling fish like rasboras and neon tetras you may have problems as they'll steal the bettas food leaving the betta to become stressed and starve.

Non-fish options are with caution. Apple snails usually work, you need to watch the betta doesn't nip the feelers off the snail though.

Small shrimp will get eaten. Large shrimp like amanos can work provided the betta doesn't nip them, it can be hit and miss with them.

African dwarf frogs are again hit and miss, sometimes they work, sometimes a frog may latch onto a bettas tail thinking its food (the frogs have bad eyesight) causing stress and injury to the fish, or this can be flipped as bettas are perfectly capable of nipping off the frogs toes or even breaking their legs.
