  1. This sounds like a good set up. In general my different species of panda got along fine. They are bottom feeders and they sell special food that sink right away. Tetra are non agressive (I suggest neons) I had a problem with larger fish stealing the corys food so stick with smaller fish. Also corys usually like to be in schools, do your research before you purchase since you have a limited amount of space. Some cories are smaller and you may be able to fit more creating a school while others don't need as man companions. It just depends on what you want and the type of fish. GL

  2. i just got a ten gallon tank myself and ive done a lot of research so i know that what you would like would be great. tetras are peaceful community fish and corys are as well. there are a wide variety of tetras that include the following:

    *neon tetra

    *cardinal tetra

    *phantom tetra

    *ruddy nose tetra

and that is only a few of them!

i have 7 neon tetras as of now and i like them very much, they are known for their splash of bright red on their tails and the blue stripe. they are available in many pet stores and are very popular choice for a freshwater tropical aquarium. if you get tetras remember that many of them are schooling fish and that they should be kept in groups of at least six.

Cory cats eat anything that floats to the bottom and i could spit out the rest of the info but you can find it on the link below..

make sure you have a heater for your aquarium and ask more qquestions if any problems arise, although the ppl at the pet store should be helpful!!

another site is really useful and should help you clear up any other questions about fish, just search under fresh water fish

hope i answered your questions :D

  3. Good start.  First and foremost, Cory Cats are very social.  Im not going to say mixing cory cats are bad, in my experience, my cory have stuck together pretty much by type of cory.  My green cories seem to socialize with my albino cories...but when it comes down to it...they stick mostly to their own kind.  Since your tank isnt huge I would stick to 3 Cories...maybe 3 Panda or 3 Albino.

As far as Tetra, there are a couple of "semi-aggressive" Tetra that can be fin nippers....Black Skirt Tetras are one of them.  For your tank, the Neons are really cool and will get along fine with the Cories.

There are Glow light Tetra (orange strip), Black Light Tetra (white strip), Head Light/Tail Light Tetra, Redeye Tetra, etc.  Either way, you have a lot of choices.

Something that is nice and I have done before...get about

    6 Neon Tetra

    3 Albino Cory Cats

1 Dwarf Gourami (Neon Blue or Flame...your choice).

This gives you a small tetra school that will be safe and flow good together...the Albino Cory Cats give you some contrast of color to the Neon Tetras...and the 1 Dwarf Gourami is a very colorful fish and peaceful.  Only get one of these....cause like the Bettas...they can become aggressive to their own species.  They only get to about 2 to 2.5 inches and will highlight any tank.

Have some plant cover and a hiding spot for the Cories (log).

    Best of Luck!

  4. Before you buy your 10 gallon tank!

Ask your local pet store to help you further.

They well provide you with useful tips and guidelines :)

  5. i would get

    2 albinos

    2 pandas

    and 6 tetras

  6. Yes, all corys will get along and will even school together.

As far as tetras go I would get 2 schools one that is neon or cardinals and the other x-ray they are both cool and may possibly even school together because they have the same body shape.

You tank is definately big enough for 2 school of smaller tetras and 1 school of bigger ones
