The last time I was at the dr was at 15w. I don't go back until 24w2d due to some medicaid billing problems. Its all figured out now.

Anyways, I weighed 132 at my last apt, and now I'm weighing 142! Is my dr going to freak? Total pregnancy weight gain of 14 lbs.

  1. At 24w you've only gained 14lbs, that's not bad!! Don't worry!

By 28w i had only gained 8lbs, I lost a couple lbs in the very beginning. Not sure what I would have gained in the next 12w, my water broke at 28w. :) Thats not too much or too little. And your doctor won't freak!

    Good luck!!

Thats still not bad! Your doctor won't freak! You're doing everything right! It's hard to go off other peoples weight, because you are different than everyone else, and carry weight differently and things like that.

  2. Hunny... I gained 11 lbs in 4 weeks! I'm 34 weeks.

  3. It really depend on how tall you are too. And what your body mass index is. I am considerd overweight but am 5'6.5 and weigh 162 (158 at home in the am) I am supposed to stay about 15-25 lbs at most. If you are taller and thinner I think you can gain 25-35 lbs... Don't worry about it.

  4. No, your doctor wont freak... you are fine.  During pregnancy, you go through periods of rapid gain, no gain and sometimes even loss.  As long as you and the baby stay healthy, there is no big deal...

I put on 10 pounds right after I found out I was pregnant!!  I also quit smoking cold turkey though and for the next 2 visits, my gain was appropriate at around 2 pounds.  It was a trade off for me, but I felt it was necessary!  Dont worry!

  5. Hun, that's fine. Average weight gain in the second trimester is 1-2lbs per week. I had the same worry. I've gained 8lbs in 4 weeks, for a total weight gain of 14lbs the whole pregnancy (23 weeks).

You're okay. Just keep eating healthily and steadily and as long as your doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either.

  6. he or she will say its YOU and not the baby. To watch what your eating, by the way what are you eating? That a bit much. You don't usually start gaining like that in a month and a half. BUT THATS FINE, just stop eating so much or maybe your choosing the wrong foods. If you can exercise then just do some walking. congrats!

  7. Your weight gain is just fine.  I wouldn't worry too much.  I gained as much as 8 lbs in one month with this pregnancy, and with my 1st pregnancy I gained as much as 10 lbs in one month!  I about died!  You're Dr will tell you if they are worried about your weight gain.

I am 31 weeks tomorrow and last week at my 30 week check up I had gained a total of 36 lbs for my whole pregnancy.  My Dr said it wasn't a big deal.  I started out small, and with my 1st pregnancy I gained 40 lbs.  Looks like I will be gaining more than that this time.  LOL!

My Dr said they like people to gain between 25-35 lbs.  But most gain 30-50 lbs, and have no problem losing the weight.

  8. Its fine! dont worry..

Im 27 weeks and i think iv out on about 15 lbs and my docs have said nothing about my weight, if they were concerned they would have said somethin i sure!

It would be more dangerous if you didnt put on much weight, my mam was put on complete bed rest for 5wks towards the end when she was pregnant with me and my twin..
