I am signed up to run a 10 mile race in 2 weeks. I have been training for awhile now. For my distance runs, i have run 8 miles 6 times and 10 miles twice. Plan to run 10 miles again this weekend. I have been training on a hilly route b/c the race is supposed to hilly. I feel pretty good on my runs and know I could go further. My goal is just to finish since this is the first 10 I have raced that far. I am also signed up to run a very flat half marathon the following weekend.

Am I ready?

  1. Oh yeah, you have already completed that distance before. With the adrenaline and people running next to you and the water stations, it will be easier than your training has gone.

    Good luck!!

  2. Yes, if you have been running around 8 to 10 miles several times a week with no problems, then you should be fine.

I did that last year and my running group and I built up from running 5 miles, to 6 miles, all the way up to 14 miles.

Just remember to take your time, especially if it's warmer than usual when you're running your 10 miles.

  3. Sound ready to me, but I wouldn't go out to hard if you have a half the next weekend. Use the 10 miler to gauge how you will feel for that half and if you feel good. Kick it up a notch for the half the next weekend and put up a good time!

  4. Yes, I think you are.

  5. ummmm

Sadly, I know nearly nothing about about running,

but given your training, you sound 100% ready.

    Good luck!
