My snake got lose 2 weeks ago, he came back and has a burn on his side, now his scales are falling off on that spot, besides bringing him to the vet what can i do?

  1. The same thing you'd do with a burn. Put some neoprene on it and watch for infections. There isn't much else. Maybe let him soak in some luke warm water for a few minutes everyday.

    P.S. Then there is noting more you can do. Just watch for infection and if he gets worst take him to the vet. Or you can call the vet and ask for advice on what you can do.

There really isn't a "besides bringing him to the vet what can I do", if there are scales falling off it is a serious burn and needs to be seen by a professional.  Think of it like this - if you got a bad burn and had skin peeling off don't you think that would warrant a doctor trip?  They will be able to tell you the best stuff to put on your snake, since you don't know what may be harmful for them.

  3. For a burn on a snake apply Terramycin Spray on the wound 1-3 times daily until it is healed. Your local veterinarian should have it or know where to get it. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions just e-mail me.
