  1. It's not a great area to be honest.  But it does have a good local tube station so you'll be able to escape whenever you like.  That area is East London (sort of Jack the Ripper Whitechapel territory to be honest).  It's very near Tower Hill so close to the City and Liverpool Street.  It's also on the edge of a large multi-cultural community leading up to Tower Hamlets.  The people are mainly Bangladeshi, Indian, and there are a lot of sewing and wholesale clothes industry there.  If you want clubs you're really going to have to go into the city (midweek where all the financial guys go) or into the West End.  You'll be able to get home on the tube or else use the N15 nightbus to get home.

  2. Yeah it's pretty good... very close to Shoreditch and Brick Lane which always has loads of stuff going on, and near Liverpool Street station which is THE centre of the universe!

  3. I lived between Aldgate East & Whitechapel and at first i didnt like it but then i loved it. Great area !!

Great transport and heaps of cool pubs and bars, Brick Lane is always fun and every sunday you have spitilfields markets which is amazing. Food from all over the world. Ethiopian food was delicious. Aldgate East has a large Asian (Indian, Bangladeshi) population so as long as that doesnt bother you Aldgate East is great !!

  4. Not the greatest of places - but its near Brick Lane, Shoreditch, Spitalfields and the City and they are great places.
