Question

Can a 12 inch bala shark go with 3-4 full grown angelfish? If not, then how can I make this set-up possible.

That typically works, but I can't guarantee it. Angelfish are big enough to stand up for themselves. Just be sure to provide plenty of hiding places and plants so that the fish can get away from each other. Keep in mind, though, that bala sharks do best in groups in larger tanks than yours.

It looks like you have a good set-up but the balashark may be too big for the angelfish. since both types are semi-aggressive to aggressive-territorial provide shelter for both types and you could put them in and hope that they set up territory's or you could just put them in separate tanks. Also if it is a 55 gal tank that is not a lot of fish and you may want another couple angelfish in there

Bala's will eat anything that will fit in there mouths so watch out for that plus you will need a bigger tank that Bala will grow to 24 "

yeah i wouldnt recommend this but if you are going to anyways intruduce them first for a while a divider in the tank so they can see each other but cant fights. leave it and see how they go. if they are trying to pick fights on each side of the glass leave it like that till they stop. then just before you open the divider make sure to put in extra plants and ornaments they can hide in so if they start to pick on each other they can find a safe place somewhere. also feed them all just before you open the divider. they will be full and less aggressive then and to cuase less stree pop some "stress gaurd" in there too. good luck!!!

yeah its goin to work fine

i have a 65 gallon tank with 5 adult angelfish and 2 huge bala sharks so yeah its goin to be fine.

i had the same probalem recently it depends on the actuall fish. i wouldnt do it the bala shark is known for fin nipping and being aggressive if u do it will cause tension and the fish's life span will be decreased will l is wrong the bala is a semi to very aggressive fish it ate 2 angelfish and 4 other fish before i sold him to a friend....  this wont help with the bala shark and angelfish problem but u should bring the temp down a degree or 2

Well, balas are schoolers so you need at least 3, 6  would be better. For 3 balas and angels....75 gallon, for 6.....100 gallon. Yea, they need LOTS of room.

They can live together. The problem you have is the shark is going to get bigger and balas love being in groups.

that would work but there are two things that you need. one is to have a lot of fake or real plants that the angelfish can squeezethemselvess into and hide and have a lot of hiding spots.

bala sharks are non aggressive fish so it should befinee, just watch out for any nippingg fins or fighting  and if that occurs take the bala out right away.

p.s- bala sharks are a schooling fish so if everything goes fine with the bala and the angels i would get 3 or more new balas so they can have a school( also if the bala does nip the fins of the angels, the balas( just like tiger barbs) will be busy chasing each other when in a group.
