10 points for personal experiance......?

Question

We are going on a 5 hour car trip TOMORROW, so my mom thought of having a "car basket" for each kid filled with things to do for the car ride and go right under there seat. I'm packing them for my mom, and is there anything else I should add?

Kassidy 13 (me):

laptop, iPod, digital camera, cell phone, 2 magazines, book, blanket, gum, lollipops

Jasmin 9:

Nintendo DS, iPod, digital camera, cell phone (probably won't call anyone though), 4th Grade Work Book, couiple pencils, 2 magazines, favorite stuffed animal (can't sleep without), book, blanket, gum, lollipops

Cara 6:

Nintendo DS, disposible camera, coloring book, 2 Polly Pockets and a couple outfits, crayons, 3 "I Can Read" books, First Grade Work Book, couple pencils, favorite stuffed animal, blanket, gum, lollipops

Nick 4:

PSP (yes, he is pretty good too lol), coloring book, crayons, Pre-School Workbook, those big pencils, disposible camera, matchbox cars, plastic figure, 3 picture books, favorite stuffed

That sounds like a super idea and one that I will be holding on to for any future car journeys, i normally just take the usual supects of drinks and snacks and make sure ive got the DS and charger but wow!

Maybe you could just be my mum, I promise i'll be good lol :)

Um.  Wow.  Whenever I go on car trips (I'm 15) I bring books (about fifteen), my iPod, a sketchbook, and a water-bottle.  Your entire family is way, way too prepared (but that's a really good thing.)  It'll be a good trip.  Promise.

Might want to add some baggies of snacks like trail mix and juice boxes or sippy cups for the little ones and drinks for the older ones.

Other than that, seems like you've got the bases well covered, though you might want to add a couple more toys for the infants.
