Rate my fantasy football team from 1-10. Please comment on any positives or negatives. I just want to know if this team can win my league.

QB DONOVAN MCNABB

RB FRANK GORE

RB MAURICE JONES DREW

WR RANDY MOSS

WR TERRELL OWENS

WR WES WELKER

TE TONY SCHEFFLER

K MARTIN GRAMATICA

DST EAGLES

BENCH

RB MATT FORTE

RB JONATHON STEWART

RB BRANDON JACOBS

WR VINCENT JACKSON

TE GREG OLSEN

I had the 11th pick in a 12 team winners league. Also I acquired Gore through 4 team trade. The league uses the NFL.com default scoring system.

  1. I give you team an overall ranking of 8. Very strong team and you will see a great deal of improvment this year from Gore.  The 49ers will be a better offensive team and it will show with Gore's numbers.  Your biggest problem is the fact that you don't hae a back up for the oft injured Donovan Mcnabb if he can stay healthy(lol) or if you had a decent backup I would probably give you a 9+.  Use one of your many RB and find you a low end starting QB.

  2. You may not want to hear this, but I believe you will have to work very hard on the waiver wire/free agent pool to have even a remote chance of winning.

Your QB situation is the biggest problem.  Think McNabb will last all season?  I don't.  How will you win without a starting QB everyweek?  This is your top need. Make a trade pronto.

As for your RBs, not bad.  If Gore is healthy, he will be a reliable, productive back.  And Jones-Drew is always good for numbers, and may only improve.

WR:  This is the strong part of your team, obviously.  I'd keep Owens, plus one of the Pats' receivers.  Offer each (Moss and Welker) as trade bait and take the best offer.  I'd probably trade Moss/McNabb for a bonafide QB

TE, K, meh.  Could do worse.  Defense:  Not looking good.  This is another weak spot.  The Eagles will win what, 8 games, maybe ten.  Upgrade somehow.

Sorry to say, but I think your team reflects your 11 pick spot.

Trade Moss, maybe Jones-Drew and upgrade at QB and DEF.

  3. for a 12 team league i'd give you about a 7.  its very risky to have donovan mcnabb w/o any backup b/c of his injury history so you lose points there.  you have way too many RB's but with the increasing number of timeshares you'll be able to trade one or two for another QB.  your WR are your strongest position...that goes w/o saying considering who you have.  Eagles defense is kinda spotty but it's a good defense and hopefully Cutler is healthy all season or else scheffler wouldn't be worth much.

  4. QB: 7

McNabb rarely finishes a season, but he is great.  You don't have a backup.

    RB: 9

MJD catches a ton of passes, and rarely gets shut out.  Gore can be a star, but his team has QB issues and he's injury prone.

Your depth is excellent.  I think Stewart could be a star.  Jacobs as a backup is tasty.

    WR: 11

    Sick.  Absurd.  Off the chart.

    TE: 7

Cutler likes him, but he's injury prone and Shanahan doesn't like his blocking.  Daniel Graham is there too.  Olsen could emerge but Desmond Clark is still producing for the Bears.

    K: 7

Kickers are a dime a dozen.  He could be great or blow chunks.

    DST: 8

Solid.  They should do well, though they face a lot of high-powered offenses.

    Overall: 9

You are going to kick people in the teeth if you can stay healthy.

  5. McNabb is a gamble due to his injured shoulder, however if anyone can get through it and put up solid numbers its McNabb... i would get a backup though just in case because he will probably be listed as questionable ALL season long which is nerve racking.

RB's- I had Gore on my squad 2 years ago and he was awesome... i am still not sold on him though, his line is mediocre and he is fumble and injury prone... he does catch a lot out of the backfield though which is a plus. MJD is a stud in my opinion but the Jags need to give him the bulk of the carries instead of Taylor. Brandon Jacobs could have a breakout year if he stays healthy... i have no opinions on your 2 rookie RB's. Your RB core is solid but not spectacular.

WR's- I can only assume this was your drafting focus. Your starting three are amazing and should carry your team the entire season. Jackson may even produce which could be used as trade bait for a QB.

TE's- Not too sure about them... Olsen needs a competent QB to throw to him and i can't think off the top of my head who Scheffler even plays for? Denver? TE is not a crucial position unless you get one of the 3 or 4 that are utilized in there offense so no sweat there.

K- Last team i remember Gramatica playing for was the Cowboys? Kickers can be easily picked up each week on the waiver wire. Can't help here.

DEF- The Eagles add one of the best corners to their already strong defense so they should be stellar... not certain about their return game assuming your league scores for that.

If your squad stays healthy, they could be very surprising. However, if your WR's struggle you could be in for a long season... but i don't see that happening.

You should be a playoff team. Good Luck.

  6. I would give your team a 9.5, very strong.  That being said, I would grab a quality backup for McNabb as he will get hurt sooner than later, as he always does.  And I like Jacobs over MJD as a starter since Maurice will lose carries to Taylor. But you can always rotate them depending on match ups.  I would definitely hold onto Stewart as I have a hunch he is going to be a beast.  You obviously had a great draft.  Good luck!

  7. For a 12 team league your about an 8 or 8.5. Your starters at all positions other than TE and DEF are top teir. However with your backup TE you have a great rotation. I wouldn't count to much on Jackson even in a reserve role, I would consider bundling him with Stewart for a backup QB, McNabb is good, but rarely finishes a year. You don't need a Pro Bowl back up, but a solid starter will give you some insurance.

  8. Donovan McNabb should have a better year since he's another year removed from that knee surgery.  I love the RB position and too bad you don't have spots to start Stewart and Jacobs every week as well.  Moss and Owens will have monster years.  TE and Kicker are a different story.  Not that great.  Definately need to get a new kicker and i'm sure there is a better one available.  The Eagles D is pretty good.  Overall i'd give it a 8 out of 10 going up to 8.5 - 9 depending on the replacement for Kicker.  Good Luck
