There are these men talking at a small get together. One man starts talking about his trip to africa.

He says "I had found a tribe. They saw me, and chased me into the woods. When i got far enough ahead of them, i grabbed a 10 foot hollow stick, and jumped into the water. I waited there for a while, breathing through the 10 foot hollow stick. I looked at my water-proof watch, and an hour had passed. I got out of the water, and made it away safely."

The men instantly knew that his story was a lie. How is this story impossible?

  1. Africa doesn't have woods

Edit: Well maybe you should have -said- jungles

  2. theres practically no water in afica!

  3. He would'nt be able to see the watch because its all blurry underwater!!!"

  4. I would say that he would just keep breathing the air he exhaled, because the 10 foot length is too long to exhale and take in fresh air each time.  Pretty soon he would not get enough oxygen. So he had to have been lying.

  5. It says that he looks at his water proof watch, but he was under water?

    Who gets the ten points?

  6. actually the Slavic's people before 1500 years have been breathing like that in water, hiding from attackers,or before to attack.but what is that 10 foot hollow stick and how come no one saw 10 foot long stick in the middle of the water?????? :D

  7. Over a certain length of pole, the air doesn't circulate like in a snorkel.  Thus asphyxiate and you die.

  8. well did he look at his watch before he entered the water? how did he know it had been an hour? and a hollow stick?...i've never heard of such a thing. i mean maybe a hollow log...but a stick? and sticks float don't they? so how did he get it to stay under water?

  9. A snorkel can't be anywhere near ten feet long. it won't work, and an hour in the water with no air would kill him. No watches are water proof. They say water-resistant to a certain depth, usually 25 or 30 meters for dress watches and 50 to 12,000 meters for sports watches.

  10. there are no jungles in africa?? only safaris? hahaha i dont really know

  11. first answer there wouldnt be ten feet of water in the woods

oh and i only said first answer so i would be first haha!
