  1. The police will not trace a call unless it is a criminal matter. You can try asking your service provider, but they may not release the information without a document subpoena.

  2. The police will not investigate this matter for you and the cell phone provider will not release that information. Usually they don't even have that information. This information cannot be released without a subpoena and cell phone companies have strict guidelines on dealing with these matters. If you complain to the cell phone provider that you are getting unwanted phone calls from a restricted number, they will only offer to change your number. Your gut instinct is telling you what is going on .

  3. Ask your husband? Surely this is a trust issue!? In no way should you get the police involved in something so trivial. No-one's being hurt here. If I call a mobile from my work phone it comes up as private. Don't panic so much!

Have some trust in your husband and ask HIM. Failing that, you're going to have to get a private investigator because this is NOT a police matter.

  4. Have you tried asking your husband about the calls?  Could it be something harmless?  I know my husband and I have the same situation with the phones, and he has a lot of private calls show on his call detail because he's the only one there at night so he has the work phones forwarded to his cell in case he's somewhere else in the building, and that always shows a private number.  They're always short calls too.

This isn't something to call the police for.  The police don't check out husbands that are suspected of cheating.  They probably wouldn't be very nice to you if you went to the police station and asked them to do it.

It sounds more like gambling to me, than cheating.  Either way, start checking the family finances and if there's a problem, it will be showing up there...nobody rides for free so if he's cheating he'll be spending more at restaurants, paying for motel rooms, buying gifts, that kind of stuff...

  5. Is there a set time that the call comes in everyday?

Accidentally on purpose trade phones. around that time (if possible).
