How to get a flat tummy?

I am 13, 5'5 133 lbs and my BODYis pretty skinny &muscular...except for my stomach. its kind of big! you woyuldnt b albe to tell cuz i always suck it in so my stomach looks flat and i did it so much now its a reflex and i dont ven think about sucking in... tips to make my stomach flatter? i run usually every day (when i can) and play basketball tips or suggestions please hep meeee =P

  1. I was told that the only good way to burn belly fat is to run.  Cruches and what not tighten the muscles, but to actually lose fat around your stomach you have to run.  Just keep running and running and running.  You might have genetics working against you.

  5. Diet is the key to a flat tummy. Eat lots of vegetables and stay away from starchy carbs like white bread, potatoes and rice.

    Do flat tummy exercises. Leg raises, crunches and running will all make your tummy flat.

    Do more cardio to get your bodyfat down and get a flat tummy. Try biking, swimming, running or hiking to be more active.

    Do this exercise-

    Lie flat on your back with your knees bent at a 90 degree angle (like you are going to do a sit up)

    cross your arms over your chest

    pull yourself 3/4 of the way up with your stomach (not your neck) and hold it for 3 seconds. Hold your breath in...

    bring yourself the rest of the way up, and let out your breath

    now, go 1/2 way back down and hold yourself in that position with your abs and hold your breath 5 seconds.

    now, slowly back to the floor and let your breath out.

    Do 15 times. Build your way up to 5 reps of 15.

  7. Oh boy, these answers made my head spin.  LOL.  Whatever.  I have always had a flat stomach all my life....and I am in my 60's.  LOL....Lay down....listen to radio, TV or nothing.....and do your crunches  or situps or whatever they are called.....when you get tired check Yahoo Answers.....

  9. There isn't an exercise to loose body fat, so just try to eat healthier. If it's more of a matter of not having defined abs, try doing some ab workouts!

  10. Some of us, especially females, are genetically programmed to have extra fat on our tummies.  It is really tough to get rid of it, and mostly you can just do the common sense things that make a healthy life style.

    Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

    Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days.  Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer.   Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it.   Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

    Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase your metabolism and make you feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.  Even if you can't get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house.  A couple of the links I've included explain how.

    In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish.   Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts.  Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.  

    Make your portion sizes smaller.   Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don't.  About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.  

    Learn to count calories.  At your current weight and activity level, you may need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.  

    Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals.  Never skip breakfast.  Include some protein in your breakfast.  It will help get you through the day.

    Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices.  Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice.  You will begin to see changes in your body.

  12. try not to eat: breads/doughs, red meat, cheese, and sugar/deserts.

    try eating lots of salads and fish.

  15. You are 13!!!  Why are you worried about this stuff??  Your body is still maturing and changing!  Be a kid!! You got the rest of your life to worry about this stuff!!  And not enough of it to be a carefree kid!!  So, take care of yourself, but don't stress so much about it!  Enjoy your childhood...it only comes around once...and we all wish we could go back and do it again...
