I was wondering what would be better to put behind the seat of my regular cab chevy silverado. I want something that hits hard for having such limited space and im stuck between either an L7 or a cvx which is better?

  1. The sound of a sub, really has nothing to do with the cone size.  I think what they were trying to say, is with the added cone surface of the L7 it will produce similar output to a 12" sub woofer.  The L7 thrives in small sealed boxes or very large ported boxes.  The CVX seems to be more favorable in a sealed box, much like the old round SoloBaric's.  If you are worried about mounting depth, there are a number of shallow mount drivers, Kicker makes one called the CVT.

  2. L7 has a lower mounting depth and has more surface diameter so it will sound more like a 12" sub.
