I just adopted a 10 week old kitten. I have had a stray cat 6 years. Who spends most of its time outside. Would they be able to get along or should I just keep them separate?

  1. let them in the same room together more and more time each day til they get used to each other.  i'd start off at about 5 minutes and go 5 more each day.  hope this helps

  2. yes keep them together make kitten a inside cat

  3. They will after a while. Your older cat is going to hiss a little becuase the kitten is invading its territory. For a few weeks you should keep the kitten in a seperated room. Take a towel and wipe the kitten and let the other cat smell it. Also let your kitten out sometimes and then put the big cat in the kittens room and lock it in there for a few mins. They will eventually stop hissing at each other and get along.

  4. cats generally don't like new cats/kittens unless they're their own offspring. Umm, maybe try it out. Put them together, see if they get along, if not just keep them seperated.
