  1. It really depends on what is inside the 10k miles package. usually, car comes with a maintence schedule, you show do it according to the schedule.

For 10k miles, if it mentions that you need to change timing belt at 10k, you need to do it. Broken timing belt can demage you engine. At the time of changing timing belt, most people do the water pump at the same time as they usually stick together.... All the tune up, spark plug kind of maintence are not necessary but recommended ...

  2. yes it needs to be done, but it doesn't have to be done by a dealer not unless you purchased the extended warranty on it,if you did that they do need to verify everything that was done to it,its best to have this done this way they can spot or repair anything that might later on become a problem on it,id have it done for peace of mind, good luck.

  3. always necessary, no.  always a good idea, yes.

why?  b/c every piece of your car now has 100K of wear on them.  some, like spark plugs, coolant, spark plug wires and the like are only designed to run that long and even that is a relatively recent advance.  they used to be good for only 30K...  their condition will affect power, fuel economy, speed and eventually the reliability of your car.

  4. Yes it is.

Because the people who designed and built your vehicle and tested it for millions of miles say so.
