My son, who is in kindergarten, needs to come up with an idea for a school project that is somehow made up of, or includes 100 objects. The point of the project is to celebrate the 100th day of school. They have been learning to count to 100 by 1's, 5's, 10's,etc. Any ideas that are suitable for a kindergartener would be greatly appreciated.

  1. A dollar - 100 pennies

  2. 100 pieces of bubblegum...then everyone can eat some after and your child will grow up to be very popular!

  3. I'm a first grade teacher in Alabama, and we celebrated our "100th Day of School" a few weeks ago with the same project.

Some interesting projects were an igloo made of 100 tini marshmallows, an edible volcano made from 100 large marshmallows, a 100 piece puzzle, a huge heart made of 100 heart stickers, a cabin made from 100 popsicle sticks, and many others.

    Good luck and have fun!!!

  4. make it 100 objects f a particular kind.maybe 100 varieties of fruits?that way they'll lean way more.or vegetables..or birds animalz.anything!

  5. How about a project identifying different kinds of buttons?

  6. I remember this project well. My daughter brought in 100 pieces of uncooked spaghetti noodles. We had 100 pennies, jelly beans, m and M's, buttons, my fave though was the 100 sunflower seeds the kids then planted. A few actually grew.

  7. How about 100 marbles in a nice jar with extras to add as the days pass so at the end of the year they have a complete yearly class project. Maybe even 100 tulip bulbs to plant as a class project, you can usually get a nursery to donate for school projects. or 100 jacks, pickup sticks, Lego's, number from 1-100 pencils. Hope this helps

  8. 100 cheerios is one I saw that was cute.  they were glued on a board in the shape of the number '100.'

  9. 100 pennies- my kids made a face out of glued pennies on a posterboard

Snack mix (10 pretzels, 10 m&ms, 10 marshmallows, 10 cereal, 10 peanuts, 10 raisins, 10 etc.)  Great way to count by tens

100 rubberbands to make a ball

100 paperclips constructed into a sculpture (you could also do something cool with magnets with these)

100 link chain- my kids school made a rainbow down the ceiling of the hall with each 100 link chain being a different color (made out of paper)

Fruit Loop necklace- every tenth one could be a cheerio to help count by tens (or fives or whatever)

    Hope this helps!
