Question:

100 and 200 meter running tips?

I have never ran track before but i've loved running ever since like 3rd grade........But I am a freshman at churchland high and i can run the hundred meter dash in 11.2 sec. i really dont have a lot of leg muscle for some reason, someone told me if i build some more leg muscle, get a longer stride, (since im only 5"7) and learn the proper way to run (for arodynamics) they said i might be able to bet into the low ten maybe even high nines.

it it possable?

also can you someone give me some tips for the 2 hundred meter dash cause i cant run long distance for some reason, i be bettin really tired.?

  1. ok, well first of all thats good, but no offense high 9's are like freakin impossible if your not an olympic trainer. just sprint a 200. thats pretty muchall you can do.


  2. I just ran a 100 meter about a month ago! Just focus on the finish line and run as FAST as you can! Also don't pay attention to what the others around you are doing! OK? Good  run well! Also for the 200 meter it's shorter then you think I thought it was gonna be long so i saved my energy but you have to put all your effort into it!GOOD LUCK! I'm rooting for you!

  4. 11.2 seconds for a 100? That's really good, especially for a freshman. I'm a freshman too and the best runners on my team average about 14.5. Some of my tips would be to keep your hands flat instead of curling them up into fists, and pump your arms heavily. Also, looking at those speeds, I'd say you'd be better off running the 100, so try out for that.

  5. ok the thing u said about low 10s high 9s theres now way unless ur getting looked at by LSU to  be an olympic sprinter in 8 years. and u said that u get tierd from the 200m bc of long distance thats not long AT ALL yea ur 100 time of 11.2 is really good for a freshman form will not get u 1.5 sec faster and if ur that fast with skinny legs keep them big legs will mess up ur form and u will go slower just tone ur legs more
