On track and field when you run the 100 meters there are several ways of doing it, there is a white line that matches with another white line, at the end of the staight track, and there's a yellow line that matches with the other yellow line at corner of the track, but there a blue line but I believe it's for 110, can someone tell me if this is all true or tell me how it works, I don't have a 100 measuring tape?

  1. Unfortunately all tracks are not the same, and they do not use the same color for different lines.

The finish line is usually white. The blue line is usually the 110 hurdles.

Most tracks will have numbers painted on the line, it reads in the direction of the race. So if you are looking at the numbers and they are upside down then that is for the other direction.

The yellow line should be for the 100 hurdles, with yellow sports or arrows where the hurdles are set.

Some tracks have one finish line going north, for all finishes, and 3 finish lines running south.

Look for the numbers painted on the lines and you should be able to tell which is which.
