Question:

100 things to do before you CUT?

I heard of this thing where if you feel like you have to cut, you make a list of 100 things to do before you cut. And you have to go through all of these things before cutting. ie.. red five pages of a book, 10 min of tv..etc.

And the idea is that by the time you finish these 100 things, you wont wanna cut anymore.. I'm 15 and a girl. Can you please name things for me to put on the list?

  1. Paint your nails

    Draw a picture

    Write a peom

    Call your best friend

    Walk around the block

    Bake a cake

    Finish your homework

    Clean your room

    Pick your outfit for tomorrow

    Straighten your hair

    Have a snack

    Have a hot chocolate

    Have you spoken to your parents about this? or school counselor maybe?

Take a shower, take a nap, talk to someone, read an entire magazine, clip coupons, organize pictures, count the number of pictures hanging on the wall, count the number of doors in your house, write a note, check your myspace, look on yahoo answers for interesting stuff (always keeps me entertained) Most of all dont harm your body!! You are a beautiful young lady and you will not like those scars when you get older..I have some from accidents at work (mostly burn from waiting tables) and I hate them!! Good luck sweetheart!!!

  4. go 2 ur school counsellor,if u r experiencing these impulses it indicates that you have some serious issues 2 deal with eg. childhood abuse,bullying or any problems u may b having. try talking 2 some1 u can trust and will not judge

  6. dear girl please go and speak to a psychologist or a youth worker or a counselor. do not try and battle this yourself. talk to people and get some help. please ive seen this and its not nice. please find help and dont listen to any idiots on here who tell you to do it, or not seek help! get help. professional help! u can do it i know you can! please just dont do it. the people around u hurt with you when you do it.  

  7. write down a letter to yourself, to read when your older think of it as what you would say to your own children if they where about to cut them-self how much do you think that you would love the child and how much would you feel if you found your child with all the cuts into their arms and legs and where ever it is that you do them. then give yourself that love to help you get around the pain/reason you wont to cut put it in a letter you do not have to keep it or you can keep it if you wont tell yourself why you think that you need to cut your-self, go into every details that you can the more you get into the paper the better.

    are you getting counseling to help you with this? if you are maybe you should try and call your counselor or talk to your mom or dad or email them so that they know what is going on and can try and help you also!

    I am shore that no one would like to see you in this pain so try and talk to someone let them in to be able to help you and if they can not stop you they can at lest make shore you are not in too much trouble and if you make a mistake and cut somewhere that could make you lose too much blood with no one knowing about it.

    Good luck and be safe in what you do it is always hard to stop but you can do it  

  8. I never heard of that, but sounds like it's better than nothing. And I think the idea of the list is for YOU to think of things, with your mind busy thinking of different things, you will eventually lose focus on wanting to cut yourself.

  10. you can do all the things these people listed.. but the most important is to seek help if you are a cutter, there is help out there.. I went through this for 6 yrs so I know its not easy, but cutting is not a healthy thing to do, it shouldn't even be an option.

  11. - Draw on your arm with a pen (sounds odd, but REALLY works)

    - Crush ice in your hands

    - Jog

    - Watch TV

    - Ping an elastic band on your arm/wrist

    - Say to yourself, "if I still feel like cutting in 10 minutes, I will." Go the ten minutes, then try to go another 10 minutes, and another. I've been up all night with that one, but it works.

    - Scream into a pillow

    - Find a loved one to talk to

    -Play LOUD music into the house

    - Take a cold shower

    - Figure out why you're feeling this way and try to correct it

    - Run up and down the stairs

    Just do ANYTHING to distract yourself.

    Go for a jog.

    Paint your nails.

    Re-arrange your room.

    Draw a picture of your favorite animal.

    Call a friend.

    Google wack (look it up if you don't know what it is)

    Walk around town and say hi to 5 strangers.

    Go take a shower.

    Play around with your animals (if you have any).

  14. I'm in the same situation. You should see about to write love in her arms. They help people but mostly try to be supportive. Put a red marker around your body.

    I WATCH A SHOW CALLED DEGRASSI AND ONE OF THE CHARACTERS HAD THIS PROBLEM. SHE COULD STOP RIGHT AWAY IT TAKES TIME SO INSTEAD THE THERAPIST SHE SAY MADE HER SNAP RUBBERBANDS AGAINST HER WRISTS.

    2.write 3 pages in a journal

    3.pick up trash around your neighborhood

    4.clean your room

    5.give yourself a mini spa treatment (wash face, soak feet, do nails, etc)

    6.Design 1 outfit

    7. Call a friend you haven't talked to in a while

    8. Buy yourself flowers (or pick them)

    9.meditate

    10. Turn your favorite happy song way up and dance

    11. Get into the outfit that makes you feel best
