100 years ago, in the north of england, what "class" did football supporters (and teams) generally come from?

I know the game went from being one of the mob to Assosication Football in the late 19th century, and especially down south was represented by universities and public schools. But at the turn of the century, who would have been the typical fans following football in the towns and cities of Yorkshire and therabouts, and where did the players come from?

  1. they where working class they where work teams and factory teams


  2. Players where working class! Supporters where mainly working class and the middle and upper classes where the owners and organisers!
