100 yr old home, does new floor joist underneath dirt crawl space have to be treated wood?

Recently had structural work, was quoted steel but they actually used untreated pine wood. Will this pass inspection?- I live in Paris Ky

  2. Any wood touching the ground or concrete must be treated

Treated wood,prevents rot and termites,since dampness tends to attract both.If you were quoted steel and got pine and have a written contract then I'd call the company and complain.Call your local building inspector in the city goverment they will let you know what the codes are,the phone number should be in the phone book under city goverment.Building codes are there for a reason because it protects the public by setting standards.Lucky you to live in Paris Kentucy.
