Ok so after a few years of being idle I've decided to start swimming again, reason being it's very good for the body and I miss the success I've had in the sport in the past (like I was pretty good and life was great and I was somebody). Anyways, my best stroke is butterfly. I can do 50m very very quickly but for some reason I slow down a h**l of a lot on the last 50m. I have got asthma but I think it's under control 'cause I use my inhalers regularly.

I just wanna know what I can do to keep me going fast and not slow down so much. Seriously I get really tired it's weird. (I don't normally do 100m fly, used to doing 2x 25m).

  1. Your always going to be more tired on the last half of the race than you were on the first. Just keep training for it. Practice 100m fly often and you'll get used to it again.

  2. it depends on the person and how good of a swimmer they r

so yes it would be hard 4 u because u not use to it.

  3. My coach says to swim the first 50 like you were swimming a 500 fly and finish the second 50 with whatever you have left.

  4. You just need to keep an it and build up your endurance again. I had that problem with the 100 free. I would be well ahead going into the turn but in 4th or 5th place by the end.
