  1. It will depend on how much technology is allowed to influence sports. But it is going to plateau at some mark. My bet is 9.25

  2. the current world record set by bolt is 9.69 seconds which averages 23.10 miles/hour or 37.17 km/hr.

assuming the best average possible to be 25 mph or 40 km/hr (because i doubt the human body could sustain itself through the training it would take to run any faster than that) the fastest hundred time would be roughly just under 9 seconds (8.948).

the problem with humans running is that we are only able to use our legs on the ground. fast land animals such as the lion, gazelle, antelope, and cheetah, all have four legs to use to take the shock from impacting the ground as well has four legs to push off of again in order to take their next step. though arms are crucial is running form for humans they do not help in those two areas.

so i doubt we will ever be able to run as fast as they do, or any faster than 25 mph, which is about as fast as a house cat or grizzly bear.

  3. I saw a show where they stated with all the technology the world record for 100m should be below 9.0 seconds in about 50 years.  They said it should be around 8.8 seconds but not fall any farther than that.

  4. 9.5

  5. If a human sets the world record, then another human will be able to eventually beat it.  As long as drugs and new training equipment are produced, people will become bigger, stronger, and faster.

I think that people will eventually get so fast that they won't even have 100 meter competitions anymore.  It will be the 200.  So I guess my final time answer would be something like 5 or 6 seconds.

  6. Bolt basically stopped running with 15 meters to go.

.69 of a second isnt hard to shave off people.I think he could have done it in 9 flat had he gone all out the whole way but as i have heard speculated he knew he had won and figured he had a record so he pulled up so in 2012 he can break it again. He will do it in 9 at the next olympics
