  1. Look at Ben Johnson's times.  That should give you some indication.

    As to "letting" these runners use steroids, tell me who is and who is not.

    I'm a cyclist.  We have our own problems separating the sheep and the goats ourselves.  I am not condemning all runners.  But ask Marion Jones about her medal count; you get my drift.


  2. The concern many people have is that if steroids are allowed that athletics will become more of a pharmaceutical competition than an athletic one and harm the health of elite athletes and those that would emulate them.

    It is unfortunate that athletes use steroids to improve performance but as a former competitive athlete I understand the temptation.

    I suppose that the uncontrolled use of steroids would allow 100 meter runners to shave one or two tenths of a second off the world current record 9.72.
