100th Century: Dreams do come true says Sachin Tendulkar – Cricket News Update
Iconic Indian cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, has done the impossible; the batsman has become the first player ever to score 100 international centuries. The personified batsman accomplished this feat in an ODI match against Bangladesh played on Friday, March 16 at Mirpur.
Tendulkar believes that it is important to dream, as he is a firm believer that sooner or later they do come true. Encouraging youngsters to follow their dreams, Sachin said, “Enjoy the game and chase your dream. I had to wait for one for 22 years, the World Cup. So dreams do come true.”
The Little Master was in pursuit of the ton of tons for over a year. He got close to the milestone on numerous occasions during the year, but every time he failed after getting agonisingly close to the landmark.
Sachin believes that he was unlucky not to get there before, considering he was in reasonable form. The Master Blaster is not over yet and still wants to score more international centuries to his current tally of 100.
He said, “It has been a tough phase for me. Especially tough as I was doing reasonably well in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 but felt that at times was a little luckless. It doesn't matter how many 100s you score, you still put your head down, grind it out and do the job for the team.”
The Master Blaster played a determined innings of 114-runs against Bangladesh but his efforts went in vain, as the Men in Blue lost the game by five-wickets. However, the defeat does not take away the accomplishment.
Sachin has always been a team guy, and the Little Master said that he has never thought about reaching personal landmarks. The 38-year-old criticised the role of media for creating the hype over his 100th century.
Sachin admitted that he came a little under pressure because of the hype surrounding his 100th ton.
“I was not thinking about the milestone, the media started all this, wherever I went, the restaurant, room service, everyone was talking about the 100th hundred. It became mentally tough for me because nobody talked about my 99 hundreds,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Cricket Board presented Sachin with a plaque for reaching the milestone.
