Is it okay to use a 100 watt subwoofer on a 110 watts receiver?

  1. If you have a powered sub, in other words, if you have to plug your sub into an electrical outlet, then it makes no difference. The pair will work fine together.

    If you have a passive sub, (doesn't have a power cord) then in a perfect world you would want a 110 watt rating. But, your sub is going to be able to handle the occasional transient that draws more power from the receiver without blowing itself up. Unless you plan to run your volume all the way up and leave it there all the time, your sub will be fine.


  2. The sub has its own amp? It shouldnt be a problem. Use your manuals for hooking up the equipment. Be sure to adjust the sub to correct levels or it wont sound good.
