  1. You pay a lot more  for a 1080p TV than a 1080i or 720p.

Most!!! people cannot tell the difference in the picture by just looking at it.  Most experts say 50" or larger before there is any noticeable difference in the picture.

THIS IS BY EYE if you look at it on electronic test equipment there is a difference.

Suggestion.. go to a TV store and look at the picture on a 1080i and a 1080p and a 720p TV set.  See if you  can see any difference, or if the difference is worth the $300.

FIY--- NO TV station broadcasts a signal in 1080p, it is used for Blu-ray DVD's and certain video games.  (PS3)

A TV station normally puts 4 - 5 digital programs in the space of one analog TV channel, cable goes with 8. So neither broadcasts the "very best picture" but uses compression technology.

The best TV for you is a judgment call that only you can make.

  2. Hi, with such a small television, yes, you will not even notice a difference in picture quality.  Lem me tell you something else you may not have put together yet.  The only possible way to get a 1080p picture is by way of Blu-ray and video games on the XBOX360 and PS3.  All broadcasts come in 720p or 1080i.  720p is the next best thing to 1080p but most of the time, the eye will not notice the difference.  I would advise to save yourself the $300 and go with the 720p set.
