I've taken 5mg so far (about 20 minutes ago) and the doctor said take 1 or 2 if needed. However, everyone says that 10mg of Valium is a loooot of Valium, so I just wanted to know if it was safe to take 10mg, or if 5 was enough to work as an antidepressant/anxiety medication

  1. Valium is not and is nowhere near to be referred as an antidepressant, it is mostly used for anxiety. If your doctor says otherwise, I suggest getting another opinion....

Besides I being at that weight is not good for that dose.....You will most likely be very sedated, and please DO NOT DRIVE.....

  2. 10 mg is fine. In the 70s people took this stuff out of Pez dispensers.

I know people that too 100 mg a day.

However, it is always best to start with the lowest dose possible. Even 2.5 mg, perhaps 2 or 3 times a day. Try that for a few days first. No need to take more than you need.

It is an antianxiety agent. A martini in a tablet.

  3. Valium works pretty quickly, but give it a bit more time before taking a second dose. You can also break the pills in half, take and extra half instead of a whole.

5mg would be alot for me, but maybe not for you. I'm 5'4" 100 lbs. Everyone is different.

Definitely don't drive and follow all of the precautions.
