my softball coach assigned me as the teams back catcher, should i take this to mean im not very good at softball or is this an important position?

  1. Being a catcher is a very important position. As a catcer you are kinda like the go to person behind the plate. You call the game. And if you see possible plays you yell it out. Example if you see a play at second that you think the team could get yell out 2 2 2!!!!. Being a catcher is very important. Without catchers you would have no one to throw out base runners... catch the ball that is pitched... throw out bunters. etc. I wouldn

    t take it to mean your not good.


  2. All positions are important if.  Practice hard and improve your skills.

I was a catcher, and 2nd Baseman when I started High School Softball.  I played both positions for awhile, just depending on where he needed me.  Then the coach started using me at Short Stop and Third Base too.  I basically played wherever I was needed.  I was what they call a utility infielder.  It's awesome to be able to play multiple positions with equal greatness.
