how do you know if your budgie eggs are fertile, i just wanna know, mine are clear with litthe darker pathces at the bottom of the egg, this is Maggie (budgie) 4th try now, with a different partener twise.

Hi,

The easiest way to tell if the eggs are fertile is to wait for the first egg to be incubated for 7days then get the samllest torch you can and then touch the torch on the shell, if the egg is fertile you will see veins on the shell and it will light up a red colour because of the blood.

But budgie eggs change colour if they are fertile, when they are laid they are clear and redish, but after seven days the fertile eggs should turn a solid white colour.

The problem might not be the males, it might just be that the hen is fussy and will not mate with the males.
