Question:

(10pts.)How do I get myself to WAKE UP!!!?

Every morning when my alarm goes off I feel so sluggish and weak and I end up going back to sleep even after I already slept like 10 hours. Is there anything I can do to help me get up and be energized when I wake up. Anything execpt coffee because I'm only 13 and I don't wana stunt my growth in anyway especially since I'm already short.

  1. Splash cold water in your face. It works for me.


  2. What I do, is instead of hitting the snooze or laying down. Just make yourself pop right out of bed. If you think about it and really want to you will be able to do it. I just make myself get up out of bed and hop in the shower right away.

  3. Coffee won't stunt your growth.  But anyway, you could be tired if you're not getting enough REM sleep, even if you're getting enough "sleep" in the sense of being unconscious with your eyes closed.  Just try to go to bed earlier so that you can still wake up at a reasonable time while getting extra hours in.

    You could also have vitamin deficiencies or hormonal problems if you're that tired, so you should get some tests done at the doctor.

  4. teens need more sleep so i think you are fine. but cold water works wonders. lol. and energy dinks work too.

  5. I would get some ginseng tablets or ginseng tea. Ginseng is a Chinese herb that is know for giving people more energy. Try using that for a month or so!  

  6. I have 7 different alarms that go off. I make sure they are far away from my bed. So that way, I have to get up off the bed to turn them off. It works. One of em will eventually wake me up. I also have the ihome. I connect my ipod to it and put it on the loudest setting.  

  7. Move the alarm farther away from the bed, so that you have to get up to shut it off.  And then don't lay back down.

  8. your body goes threw many cycles of REM sleep and deep sleep. when judging when to wake up you music use math (sorry). lets say you go to bed at

    BED-9:00                          (3 hours later)

    DEEP SLEEP-12:00-1:30   (1 1/2 hours)

    DS-1:30-3:00                     (1 1/2 hours)

    DS-3:00-4:30                     (1 1/2 hours)

    DS-4:30-6:00                      (1 1/2 hours)

    DS-6:00-7:30                      (1 1/2 hours)

    so if you go to bed at 9, wake up at either 3,4:30, 6, or 7:30
