(10pts best answr)Should I go to Public High school or to the Phillips Academy (Andover)?

Question

Right now i am done with k through eight grade and now my parents give me a choice to choose either btwen normal highschool and the phillips academy of andover. I need help. please list the pros and cons of each and then give me your choice. I have a 93 overal average and i have won a national art contest and a county art contest. Im also going for level six of NYSSMA for piano and i play the clarinet and bassoon. I think i have a pretty good chance of getting in. Please help... 10 pts for best answer!!!

I would strongly consider the curriculum of each school. I would analyze their course offerings in English, Mathematics, Science, and History.  Which school offers the highest math level... Calculus 3, 3 or 4?  Which school also offers opportunities for your abilities in art in music?  I suspect both do, but which school has won more awards or been recognized for outstanding achievement in these areas?  I would recommend you go with your parents to each school to talk to the administration, teachers, band directors, head of the art department, etc.  By doing this, you will get an excellent "feel" as to which school is right for you.  Trust your feelings... they never lie.

Andover is one of the very best high schools in the world. It's campus looks like that of a good college, it has amazing resources from a huge library to an amazing science building. There are classes in everything you can imagine, opportunities to study abroad, great sports coaching and so much more. You classmates would be top students from all over the world. 30% go to ivy league colleges with the rest going to other top schools. Few public schools can begin to compare.

It's extremely hard to get into Andover so you may want to apply to some other great boarding schools too. Others on the same level are: Exeter, St. Paul's and Deerfield.

well, i can't really tell you. I ve never been to that academy, but i assume it has an excellent acedemic program, which i would love.

Public high school is pretty boring, although, if what you said is true, you would probably be the smartest one in public school.

You see like a very smart person, have this academy on record, would probably help you get into a great college, depending on what you want to be.

I would pick the academy, only because im pretty smart, and want to acheive my greatest potential, but you might be different.

i would only chose public school if that is where all my friends were.
