Im 15, Male, White.. going next year, anything I should be aware off?

There's a great Mexican restaurant on Tenth and 47th - Del Valle - very inexpensive, very clean and delicious.  There is also a good taco bar on Tenth and 48th.  There are a lot of excellent restaurants on Ninth Avenue in the 40's and 50'[s.  There's a good supermarket with a salad bar on Eighth Avenue and 49th Street.  There's a good bar with good called Druids across the street from the Skyline.  Have a great time.

No, its a good area of NYC. You should enjoy it.

it seems like a nice enough place, kind of diveish but by no means bad.  There have been a few ocassions my mom has come to visit me here and my apartment used to be not far from there and they have stayed there for convenience and budget, no complaints.

No it's nice your going to love New York, enjoy it. R u moving there alone? Because you said you were 15.

It is a safe area but a little farther away from the subway (underground train). Also things in this area are a bit costly but you can catch the subway to Union Square and go food shopping at cheaper places like Trader Joe's.

If you can grab hold of a NYC subway map I would study it because most travellers find it a little difficult to navigate the subway system. If you can't get a physical map then go to http://www.mta.info
