Help...my daughter has a diaper rash(guess that's what it is), that it itching her. I have mentioned it to her doctor, but he said it was her getting familiar with her body(she is 11 mths old) and it was just a diaper rash that would clear up with corn starch. I have been using that, and it went away but now it is back. Even with out the rash she is still itching a lot. They even checked her for an infection and that wasnt the case either apparently. Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried cortizone creme on her which they also suggested but that doesnt help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I feel so bad for her. I have been to the doctor 3 x's about it and they keep saying she is okay.

  1. Diaper rash is a form of yeast infection, so try monistat.  I know it sounds wierd but I used to work for a CDC and this worked all the time.  Also most yeast infections go undetected....Also is it on her front area or rear....if rear maybe it is worms.  Children do get worms and a lot of times they will come out at night.  So if the itching is more apparent at night then this could be what it is.  Hope I didnt scare u or gross u out but these could be the answers.

  2. My daughter is prone to diaper rashes. Sometimes that is all it is, just a diaper rash, but it's good to check for infections to rule those out.

Try giving your daughter an oatmeal bath, that works the best for my daughter, it helps sooth the rash. Let her go without a diaper as long as possible and use warm wash cloth instead of wipes.

When her rash does clear up I would suggest using Newborn baby wipes (hypoallergenic, alcohol free) and sensitive skin baby soap. Have you used a new diaper, or changed soaps? We can't use Luv diapers, they give my daughter a terrible rash.

It doesn't hurt to get a 2nd opinion if your current doctor isn't giving you enough answers.

Good luck and I hope your little one is feeling better!

  3. Maybe she allergic to the diapers your using. You could try a different brand and see what happens. I am a mother of 3 and i have an idea for you for a diaper rash. This is going to sound absolutely nuts but i assure you it works. When the rash breaks out, take a wash cloth or something small to that effect, soak it in buttermilk and then place it on the inside of her diaper. This is not going to fun at her age and she'll probably scream because it's cold, not because it's hurting her. But this works. Even with the worst diaper rashes, and i've seen some pretty bad ones on my oldest daughter, they will will cleared up over night. Literally in no time! Hope this help you.

  4. Try some anti fungal cream, like Monistat. It should help to clear it up. Also, have you been giving her anything different lately? Using a different soap, different diaper brand, lotion?  If none of these sound right, and the Monistat doesn't work, you will have to take her in to be seen by her doctor.  GL!!

  5. Hi

Have you thought of washing powder etc if you are using cloth nappies or maybe an alergic reaction to something else you maybe using.

My son suffered with dermintitis bad as a baby and we had to put him onto a soy milk formula it was called infansoy this helped.

Milk products are best stayed away from but we just put him on this formula and he became better.

Letting her lay without her nappy on never hurts either obviously on the floor with something underneath such as a blanket(just in case) my children used to love this.

Also if you go to your local pharmacy you should be able to get something to use in the bath instead of soap products for dermintitis etc these are good also.

I hope this helps good luck.
