the answer is "2" two

but if you say "1 heap of sand + 1 heap of sand", what is the answer?

answer may be

1. one heap of sand that

a) twice of the old volumn if the given heaps are equal amount

b) more of the new volumn than the old one

2. still 2 heaps of sand in the same given area

you see. many answers will be derived
