On Monday night the world witnessed some of the best players on display in El Clasico. The world’s top 3 players were on show in Messi, Ronaldo and Xavi. In contrast Premier League has taken a step back when it comes in terms of acquiring top players.
Premier League still possesses stars like Torres, Drogba and Rooney but they are still no match to the players in La Liga. The league is also failing to produce top quality youngsters. German Bundesliga seems to be getting stronger all the time. World Cup
in South Africa was a prime example when Bundesliga stars overcame Premier League’s stars by 4-1.
However, Premier League is still considered to be the toughest of all but if it can add a few youngsters, than it certainly can move on to the next level.
Bettor.com has come up with a team of 11 young players who can light up the Premier League.
Goalkeeper - Manuel Neuer – 24, (Schalke 04)
The shot stopper has been the talk of transfer for a few transfer windows now. Neuer, who is a fan favourite back in Germany, will like to make the next move in his career and move to a big Premier League club. He has been strongly linked with a move to
Old Trafford. The only stumbling block would be his club who would be reluctant to let go their prized asset. However, Neuer is too good to be playing at Schalke 04, and it won’t be long before he moves to a top European club.
Possible Destinations: Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham.
Likelihood of his arrival: 8/10
Right back - Davide Santon – 19 (Inter Milan)
He joined Inter at the age of 14 and broke through to the first team at the age of 17. The versatile defender who can operate on both flanks and also play as a winger was touted as World class only 2 seasons ago. However, he has been under the shadow of
Maicon at Inter and a move to another club can reignite his career.
A move to Premier League is not so much on the cards but such is the boy’s talent that if and when he becomes available, clubs like Manchester City are likely to step in with an offer.
Possible Destinations: Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea.
Likelihood of his arrival: 6/10
Centre back – David Luiz – 23 (Benfica)
One of the most highly rated centre backs in Europe for a few seasons now, Luiz is yet to make a move to a top club. One reason that he is still at Benfica is that he has been loyal to them and secondly Benfica want a lot of money for him.
The guy with one of the best afros is certainly one of the best when it comes to the art of defending. A technically sound player with great desire and a winning mentality can only go in one direction. He is quickly becoming a player too good for Benfica
and teams who can afford him will get him sooner rather than later.
Possible Destinations: Chelsea, Manchester City
Likelihood of his arrival: 9/10
Centre back – Mamadou Sakho – 20 (PSG)
Sakho is nothing less than a beast. He is a towering presence at the back for PSG and now the French National team. He is fast becoming a top centre back in the game and most teams realise that they need to act quickly before either someone else snaps him
or his price tags shoots up if he continues to perform brilliantly.
With a couple of Premier League teams looking for a decent centre back and with his price tag being relatively lower than that of Luiz, Sakho could well be playing his last season in the French capital.
Possible Destinations: Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea.
Likelihood of his arrival: 8/10
