11 youngsters who can light up the Premier League – Part 2
In Part 2 we continue to complete our team of 11 youngsters who could shine in the Premier League.
The players who have made out list so far are Goal Keeper Manuel Neuer; Right Back Davide Santon; Centre Backs David Luiz and Mamadou Sakho.
Left Back: Fabio Coentrao – 22 (Benfica)
A very exciting young left back, Fabio Coentrao was the star of Portugal team during their dismal world cup campaign. He spent most of his time at Benfica on loan, but last season he was a constant feature in their starting 11,
which coincided with his call up to the National team. He has been linked with a few Premier League clubs and his showing against Spain in Portugal’s friendly recently was yet another top-drawer performance from the youngster.
Possible Destinations: Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal
Likelihood of his arrival: 8/10
Winger, Attacking Midfielder: Marko Marin – 21 (Werder Bremen)
Dubbed as the ‘German Messi’, Marin has taken the main role since the departure of Germany’s world cup star, Mesut Ozil to Real Madrid. He has been linked with a whole host of clubs recently. With Bremen not in the Champions League
and hardly putting up a serious challenge in Bundesliga, it is highly likely that Marin asks out of the club. He will have no shorter of suitors. His superb dribbling skills, trickery and bullet shots are too good to be ignored.
Possible Destinations: Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea
Likelihood of his arrival: 8/10
Winger, Forward: Alexis Sanchez – 21 (Udinese Calcio)
He was a key member of an exciting Chilean side in South Africa during the summer. Sanchez has bags of tricks and his trickery has led to comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, it might be a bit too early to compare him with
Ronaldo, but the talent and ability is there for everyone to see. If he can get a chance to play under the right coach then who knows, he might just be the next Cristiano Ronaldo. He has already gone public with his love for Manchester United and his profile
does him no harm to be picked up by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Possible Destinations: Manchester United, Chelsea
Likelihood of his arrival: 8/10
Central Midfielder: Javi Martinez - 22 (Athletic Bilbao)
The Former Osasuna man has done brilliantly to make his way into the Spanish National team. Considering he has the likes of Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso and Sergio Busquets for competition, it is no
mean feat. Standing at 6ft 3in, Martinez has the built and playing attitude that fits in perfectly with the robust nature of Premier League.
The only question that remains is that will the Spaniard make a move to the Premier League. He was heavily linked with Liverpool during the days of Rafael Benitez, but since his departure, the rumour has cooled down.
Possible Destinations: Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal
Likelihood of his arrival: 6/10
Attacking Midfielder: Eden Hazard – 19 (Lille)
Easily, the pick of the lot, Hazard is truly a special talent. He is being compared to Messi and Ronaldo and rightly so. The boy has exceptional ability and talent and he combines it with his game intelligence. At only 19, he is
the star of the Lille team that is doing reasonably well in the French league.
Hazard displayed his class last year in Europa League matches and since then he has been in the news. All European giants will flex their moneybags if he becomes available; however, when a player of his calibre is up for grabs,
the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona become one of the favourites. Therefore, whether he will join an English team or not remains to be seen, but he surely will be making a move in the summer, if not winter.
Possible Destinations: Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal
Likelihood of his arrival: 7/10
