  1. you can adjust the power level on all amps, you just have to do is take off the top cover if the setting are on the inside and set it to maybe 6-7 out of 10, on the master power level. it will still give you tons of power, dont worry.

  2. Most amps seriously over rate their wattage because they sell the amp listed as "peak wattage" so a 1100 watt amp is capable of getting up to 1100 watts, but runs sustained at a much lower wattage level.  So you should be perfectly safe.

The way they get the rating i've been told is they have a set number of failures per attempts when testing the product, and they crank up the wattage and if they have more failures than allowed they lower it and retest and so on until they are within their "range" of acceptable numbers.

  3. it should not blow due to having 100 watts rms more.

also, Never have any setting on the amp at Max, and Never have the gain/level higher than 3/4. this will send a distorted sound to the subwoofer and can blow them, damage the coils, melt the coils, and capable of blowing fuses (depending on the brand and quality).

on a side note, i sure hope the subwoofer is a single voice coil sub... although they are rarely made.

because if the subwoofer is a dual voice coil 2 ohm subwoofer... then be careful on how you wire it.

    why?

because if the subwoofer is 2 ohms dvc, then you can end up with a final ohm load of 1 ohm, or 4 ohm. this will change the amount of watts the amp will give. if its accidently wired to 1 ohm, the subwoofer will most likely blow and have the amp go into thermal/protect if its not 1 ohm stable.
