I am 16 years old and i live in nova scotia, canada. I would consider myself to be an above average golfer (4 hcp.) and I have been thinking about a scholarship to the states(ASU would be awesome). I just won my high school provincial championship with a 72. In junior/amateur tournaments i am consistently 70's usually 75-77. Would universities in the states be interested in me and how can i become more visible to these scouts from the states? thanks

  1. if you are wanting to get a spot for ASU you need to score better than mid 70's. If you plan to play for a big Division 1 school you need to be near the low 70's and breaking 70 frequently. With your scores now, you could play at a smaller school as long as you keep it around the 71-75. I would suggest that you start calling some coaches to find out what they are looking for. The smaller schools typically recruit locals, so you will have to contact them if you are wanting scholarship money

  2. yes come to the states you got ASU also you got Florida st a lot of and of course Stanford there are a lot of big golf schools in the US if you have a 4 handicap i'd get my butt down here and apply seriously.......good luck champ.......

  3. Yes. Come to the States if you can. I don't know how to get the scouts to see you though. Start by looking up all the schools you are interested in and write letters to the Golf Coach. Include your tournament wins and scores. Have your parents help you or anyone who is familiar with your game. The courses in AZ are amazing I hear. Plus, all the ones you'll be playing while competing with the team.

  4. The arnold palmer scholorship in america is good.
