  1. You can put pretty much any type of fish in there. Just be sure to remember the rule of "one inch of fish per one gallon of water." I wouldnt put goldfish in, because it seems like the adult size of gold fish are pretty much always going to require at least a 20 gallon when full sized.

  2. Did you cycle the tank with fish in it?  If not, your tank probably didn't cycle properly and introducing lots of fish at once will create a huge bioload for the bacteria.  Any type of fish would be good.

  3. Well, for a 12 gallon, you can have a total of 12 inches of fish, 6 inches if you plan on adding goldfish.

I like platys, mollys, tetras, barbs, corys, Asolene Spixi snails, Apple/Mystery snails, and live plants will be best.

I'd suggest against ghost shrimp, they die fairly easy, and are rarely even seen.

If you are going to have a frog, I suggest only have a frog, especially if it is a clawed frog.

As far as live plants, I'd suggest Cryptocoryne, Java fern/Moss, banana plants, Anacharis, Anubias, or Cabomba.
