12 month old biting & scratching herself?

I picked my daughter up from daycare today & one of the staff told me that my daughter was scratching & biting her wrist (enough that it broke the skin in 2 spots!!)

we had a well check apt tonight so of course I asked her peed about it & she said its pretty normal but well Ive never exactly seen baby's biting themselves before!! is this true-that its pretty normal? Does anyone else's baby bite them self & if so how do you make them stop?

she's never done it around me although she does occasionally bite on her fingers & such

hot sauce... it works   just put it on her wrists and fingers  trust me   she wont bite  them ne more

Dont worry, this is very normal behavior for a young toddler. They tend to go through a phase where they will bite and hit themselves when they are frustrated, tired, or angry and also around this time they may begin hitting and biting others. This is just a form of self expression and usually resolves in a matter of months. I have a friend that has a degree in early childhood and works at several daycares with the 1 year old class and she too agrees that this behavior is very normal.
