12" 8ohm Rockford Punch bringing down to 2ohms?

I have a single 12" 8ohm rockford punch and I want to see if there is a way other then adding another speaker to get this sub down to 2 ohms. My amplifier (Power Acoustics 480-2) can handle 2ohms stable and I would like to push what I can out of that amp. Im wondering if there is a resistor or somthing I could add to the line to lower the ohmage to force the amp to power harder. I do know I could bridge it 2x (bridge it on the amp and bridge it between the speakers to get 2ohms) but finding a identical rockford (this one is a little older) would prove to be difficult. Also one 12" sub is all the room this car (Saturn) has to give. Thanks !!
