Question:

12 volt switch question?

I am wanting to hook a on-off-on duel throw 12 switch up so that the blue rotators on our light bar are on one side, and the whole light bar comes on on the other. The problem is how do I wire it so that the blue power does not back feed to the rest of the bar?

I was told to post my question here, that you might have an answer.

  1. You should try the electrical engineering section (if there is one)

You will have to explain what a "light bar" and "blue rotators" are. Also describe how the "blue rotators" and the "rest of the bar" are wired.

  2. Use a relay, and let it do the switching for you.

  3. Assuming the switch is rated for the current required and the light system has seperate power inputs for the rotators and the bar, you would connect the 12V power to the center contact, the input line to the bar to one side contact, and the input line to the rotators to the other side contact.
