12 week old teething?

My baby is only 12 weeks old. She has been drolling alot! and I noticed a bump on her lower gum with a tiny white spot. Is this a tooth comming threw? Shes a bit young though and the gum isnt red or inflammed so Im not sure. Does anyone know how long it will take before it cuts threw? will it go down again and then back up again like my wisdom teeth did before they cut?

Anyone have any tips or remedys to help ease the pain. She chews on her hands alot and when I put a finger in her mouth she bites it. Im not having luck with teething rings because she isnt coordinated enough to keep holding them in her mouth. But the one I tried was too big for her so that might have been why

  1. my son started teething at 2 1/2 months. his bumps stayed but have still not cut thru, he is 4 1/2 months now. babies usually cut thru at 6 months on average. i just let my son bite on his fingers. he doesn't like the teething rings at all and he doesn't do Binky's either. good luck. ps invest in baby Tylenol

  2. my dd started drooling a few weeks ago too, but i thought surely to god it was to soon for teeth...WRONG..lol

i posted earlier that it came through at exactly 11 weeks, but i counted wrong, it was 10 weeks, and it is through the gum!!!! not all the way in, but def there....whole host of probs, she's petite, hard to put any kind of teether in her mouth for her, she hasn't quite got the whole grab it and put it in your mouth thing, and when we try, we usually trigger the reflex to spit stuff out even if we can get it in her mouth!! she's only had the drooling, and then the fussiness as it has cut through, no other symptoms..my doc first said motrin, but i thought she was too young for motrin and felt safer with tylenol, so that is what we are giving her (with his ok of course); oh and it was my doc's partner, who i do NOT like nearly so much, i love our doc, he's great....so, my advice, if baby is uncomfortable, talk to your doc about it and see if you can give em a little tylenol when they hurt.....good luck! i am curious now, if the rest will come in now, or if the rest will wait a lot later...of course she is still drooling like you wouldn't believe, we are going through clothes and bibs galore!!!

  3. it might be teething, all kids are different, the best thing i can advise are teething rings that you put in the fridge and bonjella. if bonjella doesn't work, try zalactin if you can find it. it's like bonjella and for the same thing but a bit stronger.

  4. there is a dummy you can buy ...looks like a mouth guard ( the nipple bit) its great , Nathaniel my son happily munchs on it for hrs...Nath was born may 3rd so their bout the same age and hes is teething , they can teethe for a few months prior to anything popping threw...then all of a sudden ....theres lots... let me know if your pharmacy doesnt have then...here in Aus they do and their magic ..i can always post you one if you like

  5. The teeth are there, probably not going to come through yet. You can try a cold wet washcloth, and let her chew on it. There are also teething tablets (available at Wal-Mart or CVS) which are AMAZING. They just melt in their mouths. There is also baby orajel. Good Luck!

  6. I don't have an answer but your kid is cute !! :)
