  1. Sounds like a parental control problem. They need to put their feet down and buy her a night light and have her in her own bed. I am sure she has one. Sounds like she gets pretty much what she wants as not to have a conflict. It sure is going to be hard to change now. You would think at 12 she would want her own space. Family counceling sounds like a plan.

  2. It really doesn't matter if it is normal or not... everyone has their own unique personality. Maybe she just really loves her parents or maybe she isn't ready to sleep on her own. I wouldn't say this is a problem either, unless the parents say it is. If it is bothering the parents; the parents should talk to her about it and if that doesn't work they should see a psycologist. I'm sure the psycologist can resolve the problem by either talking to her about it or finding some techniques to help.

  3. well, it's pretty unusual..

  4. What is "normal".  Maybe they could give her a room makeover new room, new change, time to "grow up" kinda thing.

  5. no not normal.

  6. W:OW!!NOT NORMAL

  7. some kids do sleep with thier parents at that age but it's starting to not be good because when they get older they cant sleep with thier parents for the rest of there life. I would tell her parents maybe to put a extra bed in thier room and make her sleep on that to start. then maybe bribe her with somthing like i will give you 50 dollars or let you do something to see if she will go in her room. If this doesn't work and she is still sleeping with them at age 14 talk to a doctor.

    hope this helps

  8. i think its not normal because kids these at this age should be sleeping in there rooms this makes it not normal. conforming to the standard or the common type or natural this is the definition ok and to your situation 12 years old still sleeps with parents tell me is that natural or standard or common in the world. the answer is no this is not common.

  9. It isn't normal, does she have her own bed? It is something that should probably be checked out by a psychiatrist

  10. I slept in the same bed as my mom until I was 10.

I had attachment issues, I was clingy.

    No, it's not normal though.

  11. Her parents are enabling her behavior by allowing her to sleep with them.  What they should do is to tell her NO she can not sleep with them.  They should also monitor and supervise what she watches since she obvioulsy has a problem with "scary" movies.  Either way the PARENTS have to tell her no to sleeping with them instead of allowing her to do so.

  12. No it isn't normal. My neice also slept with her parents until she was 12. She also became sexually active at 12. I am not sure if sleeping with her parents had anything to do with that or not but I do know what her parents did have s*x with her in the room. Her mother once talked about her waking up in the middle of it.

  13. Bad sleeping habits as a baby I would imagine.

Did they co-sleep & not put her in her own room/crib.

No it's not normal at all.

  14. Does she have her own room? Maybe she is scared of her own room. Does she sleep in the same bed or does she have like a bed in their room?
