120 volts to 12 volts ?

Question

I would like to know is there a way to convert 120 volts ac to 12 volts dc ?? What i would like to do is attach my car amplifier to to an ac outlet to power my subs

It is quite simple. A 12 volt power supply is readily available. You can also uses a car battery with a charger (be careful, it contains acid and the fumes from charging can be explosive).

What you will need to know is the current requirement.

Yes, but you will need an inverter or a converter. Ask at your local car stereo shop.

I would advise going to goodwill  and getting an amplifier, car amps don't work so well in houses, I should know, my TV uses on and it cracks all the time.
