I dont smoke, but my father died early from smoking. No matter how much we pleaded with him to stop and how much love he had from his family, he said that he could not stop. I just never understood, what is it about smoking that people ignore certain death to do it. Smoking is so deadly that even second-hand smoke can kill you. It probably about money and population control, but I'm not sure.

  1. It's legal because it's big business.  And, as the regulations increase in the U.S., the tobacco companies are finding huge markets overseas.  It's estimated that 50% of high school students smoke in Russia, for example.  R.J. Reynolds gives cigarettes away to minors over there because it's legal.

And, I smoke because I'm addicted.  As a matter of fact, I'm trying to quit (for the hundredth time) tomorrow.  It's very difficult to break the habit, especially considering the ease of access.

    Wish me luck!

  2. I only know the UK stats, but I can think of about ten billion reasons why the government wouldn't ban it.

  3. its a good question, also you can ask why that factory(cigaret)are open?

  4. we do it because we are addicted we love to quit but its not that easy.its legal because  its about making  money what? you don,t know money talks.its a personal choices that happen to bad for the people.

  5. because I find it pleasurable, I like the taste, and yes I'm addicted to nicotine.

It's legal because it isn't intoxicant, and adults can do as they choose with their bodies, at least for now.

Oh and tobacco farming is HUGE business in the United States.

  6. Why, because many people have more money than sense.  Why is it legal?  Good question.  It is almost like having a slow poison for sale at your corner store.

  7. Because it is addictive? and hundreds of people die each day from car accidents too...want them to out law cars? Think of it as population control. For every person that dies today, from any cause, 1 more is being born to take thier place.

  8. the government makes bucooooo bucks from cigarettes.

  9. Actually that is just the figures for the USA.  Worldwide, it is much higher and growing among women.  Now they can join the big boys and their lung diseases, etc.

They do it for several or more reasons.  1.  They are addicts and can't control their desire for that fix.  2.  They do not respect their bodies, don't care about their health nor care if they destroy others health who have to inhale their addiction.  3.  They have a death wish.

Too bad they don't know how painful that death can be.  It is legal because our politicians hands are well stained with nicotine laden money.

  10. Oh, don't stop at smoking, what about hand guns; motorcycles; ex-husbands; all should be illegal, don't you agree ??

I don't even smoke, but I'll gladly take a thumbs-down because I believe in personal freedom of choice.

I forgot botched elective cosmetic surgery !
